Eyrium vs beaconcha.in: which validator alert service should you use?

Pick Eyrium if you want native Telegram + iOS/Android push, configurable noise control on missed-attestation alerts, and flat $7/mo pricing.

Pick beaconcha.in if you also need a full block explorer, missed-proposal or sync-committee alerts, or other on-chain analytics — they're a chain explorer with alerts bolted on. Eyrium is alerts-first.

beaconcha.in is the dominant Ethereum block explorer. It also offers validator monitoring and alerts on free and Premium tiers, with the Premium plan structured as a base subscription plus per-validator-count add-ons (up to €359.99/mo for the largest stakers). Eyrium is alerts-first: a focused validator monitoring product at a flat $7/month for up to 200 validators, with notification channels and noise controls beaconcha.in doesn't ship.

Where Eyrium wins

1. Flat, predictable price. Eyrium Pro is $7/mo. No tier ladder, no per-validator-count add-ons, no separate webhook quota. beaconcha.in Premium scales by validator count via add-ons, with large-staker tiers reaching €359.99/mo. If you're a solo home staker or running a fleet up to 200 validators, the flat-rate math is hard to argue with.

2. Telegram delivery without third-party glue. beaconcha.in sends alerts to webhooks; if you want Telegram, you wire up your own bot. Eyrium has a native Telegram bot — you /start it, paste a one-time verification code, done.

3. Configurable streak threshold on missed attestations. Missed-attestation noise is the most-complained-about category in validator monitoring — relay delays, single missed heads, peering hiccups all fire alerts. Eyrium lets you set a streak threshold (1–10) per account, so you only get pinged when the misses are consecutive enough to matter. beaconcha.in's public notification config doesn't appear to expose a streak threshold setting.

4. Head-only-miss suppression. When only the head vote is missed but target + source landed, that's almost always a relay-delay false positive — the validator's reward is barely affected. Eyrium can suppress these alerts entirely. beaconcha.in does not appear to offer this filter.

5. Fee-recipient and withdrawal-credentials change alerts. This is a supply-chain alert: if someone (or some compromised tool) changes where your rewards go, you want to know immediately. Eyrium fires on these. beaconcha.in does not advertise this alert type.

Where beaconcha.in wins

1. Block explorer. If you spend time looking at block details, attester duties, fork rates, sync committee assignments, or general Ethereum chain analytics, beaconcha.in is a full explorer. Eyrium is not — we monitor validators, we don't show you the chain.

2. Missed-proposal and sync-committee alerts. beaconcha.in fires alerts when your validator misses a block proposal or fails its sync committee duties. Eyrium currently ships neither (both are on our roadmap). If proposal/sync-committee monitoring is critical to your operation today, beaconcha.in covers what we don't.

3. Multi-chain coverage. beaconcha.in covers Ethereum and (for now) Gnosis. Eyrium is Ethereum-only.

4. Maturity. beaconcha.in has been the default validator dashboard since the Beacon Chain launched. If you value a long track record over feature focus, that matters.

When to switch

Switch to Eyrium if

  • You're tired of missed-attestation alert volume
  • You want Telegram or native mobile push without setup work
  • You want a flat, predictable price as your validator count grows
  • You want fee-recipient change alerts as a supply-chain safeguard

Stay on beaconcha.in if

  • You actively use the block explorer features
  • You need missed-proposal or sync-committee alerts today
  • You need Gnosis Chain coverage
  • Webhook-only notification fits your existing stack

There's no reason you can't use both — beaconcha.in's free tier is fine as a chain explorer, Eyrium handles the alerting categories it covers.

FAQ

How much does Eyrium cost compared to beaconcha.in Premium?
Eyrium is a flat $7/mo (or $70/yr) for up to 200 validators. beaconcha.in Premium is tiered — a base subscription plus per-validator add-ons that scale up to €359.99/mo for the largest stakers. Exact base prices vary by tier; check beaconcha.in for current numbers.
Can I monitor more than one validator on Eyrium's free tier?
No. Free tier is 1 validator with email-only alerts. Pro ($7/mo) lifts that to 200 validators and adds Telegram and native push.
How fast are Eyrium's slashing alerts?
Worst case ~60 seconds — we poll the beacon chain on a 1-minute cron. Best case ~5–15 seconds if the slashing transition happens early in the polling window.
Does Eyrium support missed-proposal or sync-committee alerts?
Not yet — both are on our roadmap. Today we fire: missed attestation, balance drop, status change (slashing, exit, withdrawal), and fee-recipient change.
Does Eyrium support Discord, Slack, SMS, or webhooks?
Not today. Currently shipping: email, Telegram, iOS push, Android push. Discord, webhooks, and SMS are on the roadmap.
Can I use beaconcha.in and Eyrium together?
Yes — many users do. beaconcha.in is a chain explorer with alerts; Eyrium is focused alerting with noise controls. Use beaconcha.in for browsing chain data (and missed-proposal/sync-committee alerts), Eyrium for attestation and supply-chain alerting.
What if I have more than 200 validators?
Contact us at [email protected]. The 200 cap is a soft cap on the standard Pro plan — we can accommodate larger operators.
